4 Spa Treatments You Can Try at Home

    JohnBy JohnApril 25, 2021Updated:May 25, 2021No Comments4 Mins Read

Treating yourself to a day at the spa is a phenomenal way to unwind after a stressful week. The relaxing atmosphere, calming music, and rejuvenating treatments are the ultimate self-care. While it is a special treat to go to a special location for spa services, you can easily replicate many of these treatments at home.

You may not always have the time or money to invest in a long day at a spa resort, so why not benefit from the healing properties of wellness and spa treatments and recreate the spa experience from the comfort of your own home? Light aromatic candles, make nourishing face masks, draw up a soothing bath, and float away into relaxation.

    1. Facials

Skincare is a crucial aspect of any beauty routine. From steam facials to face masks, there are many routines you can explore to recreate a spa at home. Facials can be used for hydration, exfoliation, or to reduce inflammation. Whip up a homemade face mask made from honey, coconut oil, lavender oil, and avocado to soothe irritated and red skin. If you want your face to glow brightly, mix papaya, cacao powder, and aloe vera gel.

Your options of DIY face masks made from natural ingredients are limitless. You can even give yourself a steam facial. Fill a bowl with boiled water and add a few drops of your chosen essential oil– tea tree to treat acne, rose for dry skin, or lavender for oily skin. Lean over the bowl for a few minutes with a towel covering your face to trap the steam. Afterward, apply a clay mask or a gentle moisturizer, and your face will feel like new!

    2. Body Scrubs

Exfoliation is an important routine to remove dead cells from the skin’s surface. Mix natural ingredients such as brown sugar, olive oil, honey, and a few drops of citrus essential oil. Apply this scrub generously over your body and massage while in the shower to rejuvenate your skin.

You may even want to add a few drops of CBD oil to your scrub. An extract from the hemp plant, CBD is thought to be a powerful natural supplement that can help alleviate symptoms related to anxiety and chronic pain. CBD products are also linked to reducing inflammation and to healing skin conditions. Thus, CBD is becoming a new component in health routines, including spa treatments. If you’re curious to learn more, read up on cbdnerds.com to explore the various benefits of CBD and find reputable brands, as CBD is not yet FDA-approved. Don’t forget to consult a doctor beforehand as well to ensure you’re aware of any potential side effects. Once you’ve found the CBD product for you, add a few drops to your scrub or lotion to help boost your skin routine and relieve achy muscles.

    3. Foot and Hand Mask

Our feet and hands do much of the work for us and end up quite tough after long days of walking and yard work. Give your hands and feet a soothing treatment to soften the callouses. Concoct a moisturizing treatment, including ingredients such as olive oil and sugar. Massage your feet and hands with it and soak them in warm water. Apply a mask made from oatmeal, olive oil, aloe vera, and peppermint oil afterward to leave them feeling extra smooth. To complete the experience, give yourself a pedicure and manicure as well.

    4. Aromatherapy Bath

While it is difficult to replicate a steam room or sauna at home, you can recreate a similar experience by creating an aromatherapy bath or shower. Add a few drops of your chosen essential oil to a sponge, perhaps a calming scent like lemongrass or an uplifting aroma like neroli. Place the sponge on the floor while you shower and allow the steam to release the scents.

Alternatively, you can draw a soothing bath with healing salts. Himalayan salts are among some of the best bath salts available. They are calming and deliver magnesium to the body, which helps your muscles to relax. Himalayan salts can also soothe skin irritations, easing your discomfort by suffering from eczema, acne, or bug bites. I

f you’re looking to nourish your body, you may want to experiment with a milk bath, which will soften and cleanse your skin. Mix a few cups of milk into the bathwater along with some honey and a few drops of your favorite essential oil. To elevate your bath experience, you may even choose to add a few drops of CBD oil to help you sink into a state of total bliss.
