When you first purchase a length of rope, check your measurements against your tools. When fitting the correct sized knot into a given spot on the rope, you need to cut a perfect straight angle. It is right at the top of the loop, rather than the butt of the loop. This ensures additional strength is placed onto the tension of the loom.
1) Grab the end of the tension coiled red ribbon. Place it at the centre of the heads of the loop of the hammock. Take a few seconds to ensure it is locked into proper placement. That means it should be about 10 to 12 inches off the top of the loop. If you have trouble sighting it, pull the ribbon toward you in order to visualize it better.
2) The newly cut length should be fairly straight, but it should be roughly cylindrical in shape. The Drill bit or a small grinder is necessary for cutting off the corners, depending on the type of loop.
3) If you are not a very experienced layer of in demand carpenter, remember to always use a level on the entire length before mounting it to the wall. If you prefer, most hammock manufacturers will include the mounting hardware with your hammock or other variety of hammock fixtures.
4) To make sure the loop goes where you want it to go, make sure the loop is perfectly aligned with the loop japs. If the angle is too big, the hammock might swing from one side of the wall. If it is too small, hammock slings will hang forward or back from the front. The lay between the loop and theist part of the hammock, is called the head. If you cannot find the head, use your level. If the hammock is not going full swing against the wall or hanging in the wrong place, adjust the yoga loop to add positive amounts of each bulb point.
5) Generally, you will want to leave a few inches of space between the top of the loop and the top of the wall. If you have a long wall, you will want to add a few inches of space so you don’t limit the length of your hammock. Depending on the hammock, you can add a few inches or up to a few feet to the length.
6) When adding the hanging hardware, you may want to start with the all of the hardware off centre. Then loop both ends through the hanging hardware.
7) The last step is to grab the leg about four inches above the floor. Slide it up under the top of the loop and then the other end. Using the loop as leverage, pull the loop up toward the ceiling.
8) Now the piece is ready to be mounted.
Hanging Loop Styles
All styles of hammock swing chair can be made with a hanging loop that is attached to the inside of the fabric or to the section of the roof that the attachment is secured to. If hanging the hammock from the ceiling, then the loop goes through the ceiling where you would attach the hook. With the simpler styles of hammocks, the loop goes through the back wall. This style of hammock requires a hook or a chain on the back wall. If you do not have either, then you can purchase a hook or chain on the roof. Most any type of hook or chain is provided with the hammock. If you have a hook or chain hanging from your wall, then you will need to install a hook or chain piece accordingly.
The easiest way that you can complete the installation is to use wooden boards. You can secure the wooden boards at each side of each end of the hanging loop. The length of the board depends on the length of your rope. Smaller sections of rope are fairly easy to work with.
Attaching the Hanging Loop
To suspend the rope from the ceiling, centre the wooden boards around the hanging loop. The wood boards must be attached to the wall at the height that you want the chain done. (Schedule custom to be done for person beds.) Attach the wooden boards to the wall with the same screws that you used to attach the hanging loop to the back wall. (Schedule custom to be done for person beds.) Once the wooden boards are attached to opposite sides of the hanging loop and to the board, the support strap (material that the rope is attached to) should be centred around the loop.
The support strap should then be attached to the chainsaw about a foot away from the chainsaw, with the mounting hardware. If you are in the region to mount to a piece of two studs, then the support strap should be attached to two studs. Two people are then needed to support the hanging loop by holding on of the opposite sides of the strap.
