Audrey Ou epitomizes the entrepreneurial spirit, seamlessly merging her passions for art and technology into a flourishing enterprise. A pivotal figure in the inception of TRLab, she now steers the company as its CEO, propelled by her remarkable academic journey.
As New York Weekly says, hailing from Hong Kong, Ou was instilled with values of diligence and resilience by her parents. Her trajectory led her to New York, where she attained a Master’s in Applied Analytics from Columbia University. Fuelled by an enduring love for art, Ou, alongside Xin Li-Cohen, embarked on the creation of TRLab—a pioneering platform for NFT-based art collection.
NFTs, leveraging blockchain technology for ownership verification, have revolutionized the art world by enabling the creation of innovative digital artworks.
Ou’s fascination with bridging the realms of finance, art, and technology found a natural intersection in fine art NFTs. During her tenure at Princeton University, where she earned an AB degree in History, thepressedge she spearheaded initiatives at the Princeton Moneythink Non-Profit Organization, delivering classes on entrepreneurship and financial literacy to prison inmates, harnessing technology for financial empowerment. Simultaneously, her role as a student tour guide at the Princeton Art Museum underscored her deep-seated connection to the art domain.
Teaming up with Xin Li-Cohen, Ou envisioned TRLab as a digital frontier for art appreciation, collaborating with artists, foundations, and institutions to curate an immersive digital art experience.
Since its inception, TRLab has fostered partnerships with acclaimed artists such as Cai Guo-Qiang and institutions like the Calder Foundation. Notable collaborations include Cai’s “Transient Eternity – 101 Ignitions of Gunpowder Paintings,” a digital celebration of his acclaimed artworks.
In 2022, TRLab partnered with the Calder Foundation to digitize Alexander Calder’s iconic mobile sculptures into NFTs, preserving their cultural legacy in the digital age.
